'Atomic Biology' Specialist At WSC

PULLMAN, Wash., Jan. 19, (AP)—A second specialist in "atomic biology" will join the Washington State college faculty next month when Dr. Noel Higginbotham takes a position as associate professor.

W. R Hatch, biology department head, said Higginbotham, has specialized in morphological work at the new Agronne national laboratory for atomic research in Chicago. Prof. Orlin Biddulph, already on the biology staff, is a specialist in the physical problems of the use of radioactive isotopes.

A school vacation in the spring is being given from Wednesday until next Monday. This is the first spring vacation for Toledo schools as well as many other schools In Lewis county. Many of the teachers are spending the week out of town.

Mrs. L. A. Brauer entertained the following members of the Lewis County Tuberculosis League at a 1 o'clock luncheon last Friday: Mrs. Rush Banks and Mrs. C. P. Stahl of Centralia, Mesdames Harry Coffman, H. S. Bennett, Grant Armstrong and Miss Mabel Hanify of Chichalis, Mrs. W. W. Emery of Napavine, Mrs. M. T. O'Connell, Winlock, and Mrs. H. W. Tevis.

Ralph Brauer of San Diego, Calif., visited from Thursday until Monday with his brother Lloyd Brauer in Seattle and at the L. A. Brauer home here.
